Knowledge is Power!
We are focused of Education this month and appreciating the student in all of us! This month is our Student Appreciation month. We have the one and only Dr. Ron Tibben-Lemke professor at UNR as our guest speaker for this month’s PDM. He will be discussing Reverse Logistics a topic he has been studying for many years and coauthored a book on the subject.
I would really like to thank our guest speaker last Month Dr. John Zurn, CIRM, CPIM, for a terrific presentation on how Antioch has managed change with product life cycles. His presentation was innovative and he showed us how the APICS Body of Knowledge has helped him throughout his career.
We have several Seminars we’re working on for you including “Getting to Lean” and a 5 day Six Sigma Black Belt Seminar in April. Then we follow that up in June with a Negotiation Seminar with Robert Menard author of “You’re the Buyer – You negotiate it”. Don’t miss Top Management night this year. We will be hosting a Wine Tasting event put on by Vino 100 with all proceeds benefiting the Northern Nevada Food Bank in conjunction with the Associations efforts to support America’s Second Harvest, the Nation’s Food Bank Network. Our special guest speaker this year will be IGT’s own Tony Ciorciari, Executive VP of Operations. Again this year IGT has donated a slot machine for us to raffle to help support our APICS Student Chapter efforts at UNR. We will also be awarding Company of the year as well as recognizing those students who have achieved their CPIM and CSCP status. Mark your calendars for May 15th!
