SPRING FESTIVITIES
At this point on our calendar we are more than halfway through our 2009-2010 year. To date we have sponsored two plant tours and six PDMs with 233 members and guests in attendance, and 109 participants have taken CPIM or other classes.
During the last month, the following five students completed Strategic Management of Resources: Steve Planka, Lisa Parkinson, Barry Thomson, Hung Huey, and Tim Sieben. The following participants are on track to complete Master Planning of Resources within the first week of April: Dale Jackson, Steve Roy, Adrian Cobb, Ahmad Ahmad, Derrick Olson, Joy Curtis, Tammy Rhead, Becky Cawthorne, Todd Kirchoff, Lelana Moralez, Tobie McCubbin, Kenneth Schneider, Joe Sedminik, and Deb Epps.
Upcoming CPIM classes include Detailed Scheduling and Planning, which begins April 26 in Minden, and Basics of Supply Chain Management, starting April 19 in Reno. Also, our first offering of CSCP class starts on May 1, to be held at the IGT training center in Reno. There are still spots available in all of these classes for anyone interested.
SAVE THE DATE of May 11, for our Top Management Night event, which is always fun. This year we bring back the wine bar and slot machine raffle, and I’m sure you will enjoy our speaker for this PDM, who brings passion for improvement of others as his mission and vision in life. Watch for invitations to arrive, and please spread the word to coworkers and friends who you think would also be interested.
Here is an invite to anyone interested in volunteering. Please speak to any board member about how easy it is and what’s involved. Most positions take six or less hours per moth. Fresh ideas are always welcome, and the growth and sustainability of the chapter depends on new people with creative direction. Please consider becoming involved!
Right around the corner will be three plant tours in the summer – these are always fun and informative, and a nice change to go somewhere in the community for a tour.
