RECOGNITION OF MEMBERS
As these bright spring days get longer and warmer, we know that May is approaching. Our board knows it too, because all of us have been very busy of late, making preparations for the annual PDM held in May known as Top Management Night.
It is Northern Sierra Chapter’s special meeting when awards are extended to members who have received CPIM and CSCP certifications throughout the past year, when we recognize individuals and companies who have promoted or supported the chapter, and when we thank instructors who have shared their knowledge.
We continue to have much interest in our CPIM and CSCP classes, and the Basics of Supply Chain Management was rescheduled to start May 3 in Reno. We hope to send out a survey during the summer, so we can tailor our offerings to the members to fit your needs and wants.
To keep your certification current, please consider becoming a board member. We need someone to take over as VP Communication. This position enables all of you to receive e-blasts about upcoming classes, PDMs, and plant tours, as well as the monthly newsletter that is emailed to everyone on our contact list. Preferably you will have some background with updating websites and maintaining email contact lists, but anyone can apply.
Serving as a board member is very rewarding and a great way to learn about all of the entities in the Reno and Carson area. There are opportunities to interact with other chapters in the Pacific Western District and develop presentation skills.
