Instructor Bios

Michelle Danielson, CPIM
Michelle Danielson is currently a Senior Buyer for International Game Technology in Reno, Nevada. She has been a member of APICS for over 2 years and in December, 2004 received her CPIM certification.
Michelle's background was in Retail and Distribution buying. When she came to work for IGT she realized the necessity of learning more about the entire manufacturing process. The CPIM classes gave her the education she needed and were a big help to get a jump start in the manufacturing business.
Michelle decided to join the Board of Directors for the Northern Sierra Chapter to meet people within and continually increase her knowledge of the manufacturing industry. Being on the Board has helped her to take a leadership role and has given her the opportunity to give something back to the community.

Rick Leach, CSCP, CPIM

Rick Leach has 35 Years experience in Materials and Manufacturing Management. He has recently retired as Materials Manager from Wescam Industries, in Healdsburgh, CA.
Rick received a BA from San Francisco State University and a MBA from Golden Gate University.
He has been an APICS member off and on for 30 years, and is a Past President of the Redwood Empire Chapter. Rick also spent two years on the Region 10 Staff.
Rick has given numerous APICS presentations both as a member of the Region 10 Staff, and other APICS Chapters. He currently enjoys teaching APICS Fundamentals and CPIM Classes.

Jim Tarr, CPIM

Jim has spent over 35 years working in many business environments in a wide variety of line and staff positions. His experience includes managing his own consulting practice, senior management positions, consulting with a major CPA firm and industrial and manufacturing engineering. Mr. Tarr has conducted over 200 public seminars on a variety of topics. He has been a featured speaker at conferences on four continents and is a published author. He has been a speaker at the APICS International Conference 10 times. He is a certified Train the Trainer and Learning Dynamics Instructor and has taught courses in Production Management and Lean Manufacturing at California State Universities.

Tony Trexler, CPIM

Tony is currently the Operation Manager at Antioch. He has over 10 years of operations management experience in distribution and manufacturing. His responsibilities have included all aspects of inventory and supply chain management in addition to vital roles in strategic planning. He also gained a solid financial background during his five years as an accounting manager for a healthcare distributor.
Tony has a Bachelors of Business Administration from Georgia State University and is CPIM.
